CHALLENGE

NextUp, the premier youth sports leadership community, sought to revitalize its annual youth sports conference in 2022 after a hiatus caused by the pandemic. With the event returning in person for the first time since 2019, the goal was to attract youth sports leaders from across the nation to the Convene in New York City from October 6-7. The conference aimed to offer insightful sessions covering a spectrum of relevant topics in youth sports, including technology, NIL, mental health, culture, high performance, diversity, equity & inclusion, and digital marketing.

SOLUTION

Our creative team at Sarmant & Bennett, took charge of promoting the event. The team devised a comprehensive video marketing campaign aimed at increasing awareness and driving ticket sales, particularly for VIP experiences, both for current participants and prospective clients. The agency's approach included producing promotional videos, creating short-form content optimized for various social media platforms, conducting over 20 interviews with event participants, providing full photo coverage of the two-day event, and orchestrating fully produced multicamera keynote and panel discussions. Notable guest speakers included investor Shane Battier, ESPN host Victoria Arlene, World Cup & Olympic Champion Julie Foudy, and basketball Hall of Famer Swin Cash. 

INSIGHTS

Our efforts yielded remarkable success in promoting NextUp 2022. The campaign successfully attracted over 4,000 attendees to the conference and generated a client pipeline exceeding $100,000. The produced content garnered widespread attention within the youth sports and development industry, effectively building anticipation for future NextUp events. Additionally, the material created served as evergreen promotional material, laying a solid foundation for marketing initiatives leading up to the NextUp 2023 event.
